01Accepting these terms
By creating an account or using Pickup Truckit, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract. If you use the app for a business, you confirm you can bind that business to these terms.
02What Pickup Truckit is
Pickup Truckit is a marketplace. We connect people who need something hauled with independent drivers who own trucks and want the work.
Drivers are independent contractors, not our employees or agents. We don't supervise how a job is performed.
03Your account
Keep your login details to yourself and give us accurate information. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
One person, one account. Tell us right away if you think someone else is using yours.
04Posting a job
Describe the load honestly: what it is, how heavy, how many items, and where it's going. Photos help drivers price the work correctly.
If the load turns out to be materially different from what you posted — heavier, larger, more items, a different address — the driver may decline it or ask to renegotiate. Repeated misdescription can cost you your account.
You confirm you own the items or have permission to move them.
05Offers and acceptance
Drivers see nearby jobs and send you a price. You choose which offer to accept — you're never obligated to accept any of them.
When you accept an offer, a contract forms between you and that driver to perform that job at that price. Pickup Truckit isn't a party to it.
06Price and our fee
The driver sets their own price. The total you see in the app is what you pay: the driver's price plus our service fee. There are no hidden charges added later.
Our service fee funds the platform — matching, payments, support, and safety. The fee rate may change over time; the total shown at the moment you accept an offer is the price that applies to that job.
07Payments
Card. Card payments are processed by Stripe. We don't store your card number. When you confirm, your card is charged for the total and the driver is assigned.
Cash. If you choose cash, you pay the driver directly on delivery. The driver is responsible for remitting our service fee, which is tracked in their account.
Driver payouts are made to the payout method the driver saves in the app. Drivers are responsible for their own taxes.
08Cancellations
You can cancel a job at no charge while it's still open and no offer has been accepted.
After you accept an offer, the driver may already be planning or driving to you. Cancelling at that point may be non-refundable, in whole or in part, depending on how far along the trip is.
If a driver doesn't show or abandons a job, tell us and we'll refund the card payment for that job.
09What you can't haul
Don't post, and don't accept, any job involving:
- Anything illegal, stolen, or that you don't have the right to move
- Hazardous materials, explosives, flammable liquids, or compressed gas
- Live animals or people
- Firearms, ammunition, or controlled substances
- Cash, jewelry, or other high-value items we can't insure
- Anything requiring a permit, license, or special handling the driver doesn't have
We can remove any job and close any account for a violation, without notice.
10Driver requirements
If you drive on Pickup Truckit, you confirm on every job that you:
- Hold a valid driver's license
- Carry the vehicle insurance your state requires, and any commercial coverage your work requires
- Own or have permission to use the vehicle you're hauling with
- Are legally allowed to work
- Will secure the load safely and follow traffic law
You're responsible for your own insurance. Pickup Truckit does not insure your vehicle, your work, or the cargo.
11Damage and liability
Because the hauling agreement is between client and driver, claims for loss or damage to cargo are between those two parties. The driver is responsible for the load while it's in their possession.
We provide the delivery photo and trip record from the app to help resolve a dispute, but we don't adjudicate claims and we're not liable for cargo loss or damage.
The app is provided "as is". We don't guarantee that a driver will accept your job, or that a job will be performed to your satisfaction.
12Ratings and content
Rate honestly and from your own experience. Don't post anything false, abusive, or that isn't yours to post.
You keep ownership of the photos and text you upload. You give us permission to display them in the app where they're needed to run the service — a job photo shown to drivers, a rating shown on a profile.
We can remove content that breaks these terms.
13Privacy
How we handle your data is covered in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.
Two things worth naming here: drivers share their location while a trip is active so clients can follow it, and clients and drivers see each other's name and photo once an offer is accepted. That's what makes the trip work.
14Suspension
We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts someone at risk, or abuses the platform. Where we reasonably can, we'll tell you why.
You can close your account at any time from the app. Money already owed — a driver's outstanding service fees, for instance — survives closing the account.
15Changes
We'll update these terms as the service changes. When we do, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date, and we'll tell you in the app if the change is significant.
Using the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
